2) Read
the minutes from the April meeting
3) The
club reviewed the newspaper articles from the DAV Winter Sports Clinic
4) The
BOM discussed improving the range by adding a trap house to add challenge and
shot variety. This would give the
ability to set up incoming shots or other alternate shots without going out of
bounds on the existing range.
A committee will be formed
to discuss options, pricing, trap location, type of trap and times of day that
it could be utilized. Safety is
foremost. Location and the resulting
pieces of the broken clays need to be considered. Also, for a shot to be incoming it needs to
be directly overhead.
Jarrod will chair the committee
and Bart will be one of the committee members.
5) Voting:
Last year five people were voted into the BOM.
Usually it is three people one year and two people the next. Phil will speak with Stuart Holmes to see if
he wants to remain on the board. If not,
a new person will be voted into the BOM.
6) Warren
said the club needs a “hit list” of people who can be called in case of
problems at the range. Chuck says it’s
OK to call him. It’s also OK to call
Dana and Perigo.
7) New Business:
a. Targets
need to be ordered soon. Peter will call
Sunset Distributors and set up a time to get them delivered the weekend after
Memorial Day.
b. NWF
has approached the club to see if it is possible for them to hold a fundraiser
at the club. BOM agreed that it is
acceptable as long as the NWF can justify that it is worth shutting the club
for a day. Phil will ask for a proposal
which will ask that the NWF pay for two range officers for the day.
c. ROs
need to meet to more equitably split the shifts. Warren says he prefers two weekend days back
to back. Mo asked that the ROs receive a
list of all qualified ROs and their contact info in case of scheduling
conflicts and emergencies.
d. Chuck
moved that ROs should receive a free complimentary membership. Phil seconded the motion. Vote passed unanimously. Those who already paid for 2009 will receive
their funds back.
