Meeting start 7:10 pm
In attendance: Rick Davis from CO Bowhunter’s Association, Carl Page, Jarrod Hollinger, Kory Krahl, Phil Eastley, Bob Perigo, Sue Melus, Wayne Shelton, Dana Strong, Diane Ostrander, Peter Hoffmann, Zak Deutschendorf.
- No December minutes to read because Sue Melus was not able to make the December meeting.
- No treasurer’s report was given.
- Jarrod talked to a guy name Gaspard (sp?) who may be interested in helping to put on a benefit shoot with RFVSA and the NWF. Phil will follow up.
- The BOM discussed ordering targets. They have a distributor out of San Bernardino that quoted $700 cheaper than the usual distributor in Iowa. Bob offered to call the usual Iowa distributor to see if they can go lower on their bid. Part of their cost was due to a longer distance to ship than San Bernadino. The BOM decided it would work to do a February oder for a March delivery of targets.
- 2010 Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic will be March 29 - April 1, 2010.
- There were a few people who came to shoot on the weekends during Christmas and New Year holiday week an there were no ROs. The BOM reminded that the club is always closed during the holidays.
- The BOM decided there would be a Range Officer and Volunteer Range Officer meeting Saturday January 16th at 10:00 am. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss scheduling, range clean-up and safety protocols.
- Rick Davis from the Colorado Bowhunter’s Association announced their intentions to hold a two day archery event at the DOW land above the range. The event will be similar to last year, but instead will be a 2 day event on June 5 & 6th. The first day will be a youth instructional event and the second day will be 3D archery shoot. Bob Perigo suggested that Rick contact Dean Wagner, the youth 4H shooting club instructor, to see if any 4H kids are interested.
- Diane informed the club of the Ducks Unlimited Spring Banquet and Fundraiser. They are looking for sponsors at $325. RFVSA agreed to donate one membership to the raffle like they did last year.
- Bob Perigo reported on the recent Basalt Town Meeting on the shooting range. Bob attended the meeting to explain the sound abatement features that are proposed. Meetings are open to the public.
- It recently came to the attention of the BOM that 54 cases of clays are missing and unaccounted for. The clubs asks that anyone who has seen anyone removing cases of clays or anything else unusual please report it to Phil Eastley or another BOM member. The club will continue to investigate the situation.
Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
